I had wanted to visit Science City in Kansas City the last year we visited, but it just didn't happen. This year we finally made it and I'm so glad we did.
We have a membership to the Chicago Children's Museum. We bought the higher package that lets us free into hundreds of other museums around the US and even the world. We went with Steve's cousin's wife and the kids, his cousin D, his dad and aunt.
Here are some highlights from the day. The kids started feeling sick towards the end of the day, and actually developed high fevers over the next few days, but besides sleeping a lot more than they usually do, they actually had enough energy to still do quite a few things.
There was a good sized pretend dinosaur dig (pictured above). Since Alexa is into mazes lately, the kids also enjoyed walking around this floor maze with Steve.
There was a small section with little animals. I don't have a picture of it, but I really liked looking at the samples of dead insects and spiders. Alexa stuck with petting the bunny.
The kids crawled through a tunnel with Steve...
...and I sat with Jared in a real helicopter while he pretend to fly it.
We all loved watching both Steve, his dad, and cousin ride the bike, weighted down by bricks and connected to a cable, about a story or so above the ground.
I wished we could have stayed longer, but the kids were starting to feel bad at that point. I'd definitely like to take them back again. This was an awesome science center!
