My best friend from high school, M, and I decided a few years ago, we'd forgo our usual gifts to each other for Christmas and just buy for the kids. With our super busy schedules now, it's also a good way to insure we make plans for our whole families to meet together.
The kids had a great time hanging out with M's son, J. He is obsessed with pirates right now, just like Jared, so the boys and Alexa enjoyed dressing up like pirates.
After eating a delicious dinner of lasagna, the kids exchanged presents. Alexa was excited to get the Princess and the Pea game. We have played it many times since that day. Jared also liked adding to his Duplo collection. I think J liked the construction set we gave him, too.
